AutoCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) application used by engineers and architects to produce precision schematics and blueprints for circuit diagrams, buildings and other structures. One of the tools used frequently in AutoCAD is the scale tool, which makes two- and three-dimensional objects larger or smaller. You can scale both entire objects and parts of objects, including individual faces and edges. It's also possible to scale one dimension of an object, such as its width, while leaving its length the original size.
