- URBAN GUIDANCE considers public transportation options, such as subways, trams, busses and water taxis, when calculating pedestrian routes. You will be guided to a transit stop by foot and you're able to look up detailed information on what line to take and where to get off. The feature is available through In App Purchase.

- LAST MILE automatically offers a pedestrian navigation when you park your car near your destination. The parking position will be saved and the app switches into pedestrian mode to provide walking directions.

The introduction of this service into the app was planned prior to Garmin’s acquisition of NAVIGON.

Prior to the launch of FreshMaps, free map updates were provided on an irregular basis. In response to customer feedback, we will continue to deliver occasional free map updates in addition to the optional FreshMaps service, which provides more regular and frequent (quarterly) map updates. Note that FreshMaps also upgrades regional versions, such as MyRegion or USA, to the full North American map.

Important notes on current version 2.0

Thanks everyone for your feedback on NAVIGON 2.0. We would like to provide some additional information about this new version.

FreshMaps: Prior to the launch of version 2.0, we provided eight free application updates with many new features, as well as two map updates. Existing customers who update to version 2.0 receive an included free map update with this version. This will keep the data current for some time. New version 2.0 customers will receive the latest map available when purchasing the app.

The new FreshMaps service includes the following:
1) For a single fee, you’ll receive map updates much more frequently than before. You will get the latest maps every three months for a period of at least two years.
2) In addition, FreshMaps also upgrades regional versions, such as MyRegion or USA, to the full North American map.

We apologize if this was not clearly communicated in version 2.0 release.

Favorites: To restore "Favorites" and "Recent Destinations" after the update, follow these steps:
1) Quit the app.
2) Double-click the Home button to view the recently used apps.
3) Tap the NAVIGON app icon and hold it until the "-" sign appears at the top left of the icon.
4) Tap the "-" sign.
5) Restart the NAVIGON app.
Now your "Favorites" and "Recent Destinations" are available again.

iPod Control Button: With iOS4 Apple introduced multitasking to the iPhone and this actually provides a much better control over music while navigating than our iPod integration. We therefore removed the button from the app, since we felt like it was not needed anymore. We do, however, realize that many of you miss the button and will therefore evaluate adding it again in a future update.
