- The alarm screen now displays the digital clock instead of a static image.
- New alarm setting to resume playing after selecting Snooze. Enable this feature from the settings screen.
- Play Sound and Play Mix timer options have changed. With these two options, the chosen sound or mix will begin playing like normal at the specified time instead of bringing up the alarm screen. They no longer have a 1 hour time limit.
- Play Alarm and Play Music timer options have been renamed to Sound Alarm and Music Alarm, respectively. This change was made to distinguish between alarm and play functions.
- The twitter button on the sleep screen now fades out after a few seconds.

1. LED clock displays correctly when device set to 24-Hour time.
2. iPod play icon in status bar will now
disables if sound stops and app is in the background.
3. Timers will now auto restart on application launch if all
timers have finished.
4. Background Audio switch also disables remote control so iPod can be immediately controlled
after application exit.
5. Alarm popup now dismisses if alarm ends without clicking OK.
6. Fixed auto sleep
timer staying disabled when screen was locked.
7. Improved looping of color noises and wind sound.
8. Numerous
other minor fixes.
White Noise 4 added the following major features:
- Helpful Tips: These quick tips will help you get started with the new 4.0 interface and appear the first time you run White Noise. You can always swipe down from the main screen to read them again. Tap or swipe left to view the next tip, swipe right for previous tips, and swipe up to exit. It is also interactive in that you can touch a button on the screen and it’ll go to that specific tip.
- Sound Mixes: Create mixes of multiple sounds each with different volume, balance, and pitch. Now you can take the existing 40 sounds and make thousands more by combining two or three sounds together!
- Custom Playlist: Create a custom playlist of sounds or mixes of different lengths. You can have light rain turn into heavy rain followed by a mix of crickets and thunder. So many options...
- Favorites: Star your favorite sounds or mixes and they appear in their own list so you can quickly find what you like.
- Sound Category: The new sound category popup lets you let filter the current selection of sounds to All sounds, Mixes, Playlist, or Favorites. Navigating through them is as easy as swiping left or right or using the on-screen media controls. This is accessible by tapping the top left button in the title bar.
- Multiple Timers: Create multiple event timers that allow any action (sound shutoff, play alarm, exit app) to be triggered on a specific time or using a countdown timer. The new event timer system allows for complete flexibility. This is accessible by tapping the top right button in the title bar.
- Full iPod control integration that allows you to pause/play and go to the next/previous sound. Works with headphones w/ remote controls, locked screen controls, and multitask iPod controls.
- Full screen LED clock supports both portrait and landscape orientations. This brightness of the clock can be changed by dragging finger up or down the screen. This makes it perfect for using as a bedside clock.

White Noise 4.0 has been completely rewritten from the ground up and includes exciting new features such as sound mixes, favorites, playlist, full screen LED clock, and background audio* with full iPod control integration. All this and a smaller application size that can be downloaded over the air. The best sleeping app just keeps getting better!
Major Features
- Helpful Tips: These quick tips will help you get started with the new 4.0 interface and appear the first time you run White Noise. You can always swipe down from the main screen to read them again. Tap or swipe left to view the next tip, swipe right for previous tips, and swipe up to exit. It is also interactive in that you can touch a button on the screen and it’ll go to that specific tip.
- Sound Mixes: Create mixes of multiple sounds each with different volume, balance, and pitch. Now you can take the existing 40 sounds and make thousands more by combining two or three sounds together!
- Custom Playlist: Create a custom playlist of sounds or mixes of different lengths. You can have light rain turn into heavy rain followed by a mix of crickets and thunder. So many options...
- Favorites: Star your favorite sounds or mixes and they appear in their own list so you can quickly find what you like.
- Sound Category: The new sound category popup lets you let filter the current selection of sounds to All sounds, Mixes, Playlist, or Favorites. Navigating through them is as easy as swiping left or right or using the on-screen media controls. This is accessible by tapping the top left button in the title bar.
- Multiple Timers: Create multiple event timers that allow any action (sound shutoff, play alarm, exit app) to be triggered on a specific time or using a countdown timer. The new event timer system allows for complete flexibility. This is accessible by tapping the top right button in the title bar.
- Full iPod control integration that allows you to pause/play and go to the next/previous sound. Works with headphones w/ remote controls, locked screen controls, and multitask iPod controls.
- Full screen LED clock supports both portrait and landscape orientations. This brightness of the clock can be changed by dragging finger up or down the screen. This makes it perfect for using as a bedside clock.
- 4x smaller application size while maintaining same sound quality.
Minor Features
- Status bar now displayed and with half alpha so main album image is viewable underneath
- Autosleep setting to enable sleep mode (LED clock) after 1 minute of inactivity.
- Background Audio toggle for supported devices allows either playing in the background or stopping audio on application exit.*
- New action status bar that displays the next timed event and action status icons (sound stop, play alarm, application exit) letting you know what type of timers have been enabled.
- New catalog interface for setting favorite sounds, creating mixes, and assigning sounds or mixes into a playlist.
- Upgrading from 3.x will import settings, sound order, sound timer, and alarm. Also adds the top 8 sounds from the catalog are placed into your favorites list.
* Note: Multitasking is only available only with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009)

Collection of new alarm sounds to wake up to! Alarm volume increases
much slower so you can wake up peacefully. All ambient loops were remastered and volumes increased to the same level.
New timer options for fading audio at different lengths. Just click the new options button in the timer view to access
the new alarm and audio fader options.
Device volume slider now displayed in the settings view which allows you to adjust for a louder alarm as both the White Noise alarm and iPhone alarm are played at this level. It is also convenient for 1st gen iPod users that don't have master volume controls on the side of device.
Alarm photo is now displayed when the alarm goes off, once finished, just touch the photo to restart sound. Splash screen now fades out. New next and previous button graphics to better match the white noise theme. Other minor fixes including volume burst while switching sounds during audio fade, and occasional app restart on timer app exit.

New sound engine requires less memory and switches sounds faster. Optimized image swap animation when changing sounds. Switching the alarm toggle now briefly plays the alarm sound.
