What's New

Version 6.0 (Dec 16, 2014)

An entirely new look & feel
Lose It! now has a vibrant, more modern appearance and a new, improved structure. The refresh of the UI isn’t simply skin deep though. Whether it’s the all new My Day experience that makes is easy to track your day, the new Goals section that reveals your progress toward all your goals, or the all new Me section that has all of your data and deeper insights into them, we’ve kept the simplicity of Lose It!, while making it faster, easier to use, and even more beautiful.

A simpler way to see your day and week
We’ve revamped the My Day screen, it now has an easy-to-read dial that shows you the number of calories you have left for the day. You’ll also get a broad view of the calories you’ve eaten over that week which can help with your planning or motivation - stay focused on keeping your week on track even if you go over your budget on a day or two!

Faster logging
We’ve reduced the number of steps to log a food and even better, before you even search, we suggest your frequently eaten foods, as well as nearby restaurants, and more. Just a few taps and that meal is logged!

Easier goals tracking
The goals screen also now shows you all of your goals in one place. The color coded status bar on the right hand side of the screen also makes it easy to gauge your progress on each of them -- green means you’ve met that goal and red means you have more work to do. We’ve also added a feature many of you have been asking for -- the ability to tap on specific dates on the graph to see how far you've come and the milestones you've hit along the way.

Complete integration with Apple Health
We read and write food, exercise, weight, and other custom goal values that you set up. This Health integration is top notch, writing complete details for everything (including individual food items).

Introducing Insights for Premium users
Premium users now get an even deeper insights into their eating habits with the addition of Food, Calorie, Nutrition, and Meal Insights. These rich reports shed light on your habits, empowering you to make better choices to achieve your goal.

iPhone 6, 6+ support
Support for the iPhone 6 and 6+’s native resolution without scaling. Translation: Lose It! looks that much sharper, crisper, and beautiful on the new phones!

Food sync
The latest version of the Lose It! iPhone application includes built in updating of the food database. This means that as we make improvements to our food database, those improvements will be automatically streamed to our iPhone application. We've started this off by adding a bunch of new brand name foods as well as improving the serving sizes for many existing foods. You can manually check for updates or set your preference for automatic updating under More > Edit Foods & Exercises > Food Updates.

Suggest corrections or additions to our food data
Loseit.com now includes the ability for you to suggest corrections to foods that are already in our database as well as to suggest custom foods that you believe we should add to our food database. These suggestions are reviewed by our staff so it will take a couple of days for your suggestion to be reviewed, incorporated into our food database, and then distributed through our food sync system.

Lose It! will now automatically suggest an icon for you based upon the name of the food or exercise. We've even thrown in a couple more of the most requested food and exercise icons for you enjoyment.

For those of you with a free Loseit.com account, there are some great new features (don't have a free Loseit.com account yet? Now is a great time to create one!):

Badges
Earn badges as rewards for your success with Lose It! Badges are a visual notification of your progress- rewarding you for sticking with Lose It!, making progress towards your goal, and more. Badges are shared in your activity stream and on your Lose It! profile.

Friends
We've taken the Lose It! friends feature to the next level with the introduction of some great new features. You can now post messages to your activity stream and comment on your friends activities and messages. We've also fine tuned the Friends list, Profile, and Activity views to improve their appearance, add badges, and better integrate Lose It! privacy settings. Notification settings let you control when you receive email notifications from us.

Shared Items
Shared Items make it simple to send a copy of these to a friend. Just tap the 'Share with Friends' at the bottom of a Custom Food, Exercise, or Recipe and pick your friends from the list. If someone shares a food with you, just navigate to More > Configure Loseit.com > Shared Items and you can view the list of pending shared items (and approve them). For bonus points, you can also tap the 'share' icon when you're logging or editing a food (it's at the bottom of the screen when you're editing a logged item or when you're choosing the serving size/minutes adding an item to your log).

Quality
We've spent a lot of time working on our memory usage and other quality related issues. In addition, we've made the following fine-tunes:

* Previous meals were incorrectly ignoring previous meals from today
* Preferences changes made on the web were not properly synced to the phone
* Users in 'fenced wifi' networks such as hotels could be disconnected from Loseit.com
* We'll remind you a couple of times in the event that the server does disconnect your device
* If you achieve your goal, we automatically reset your plan to maintain, but we leave your goal weight alone. We give you a small buffer of weight gain before we'll switch you back to your previous plan.
