Description

Thanks to everyone for making MyRadar so successful, with over 11 million downloads!

MyRadar a fast, easy-to-use, weather application that displays animated weather radar around your current location, allowing you to quickly see what weather is coming your way. Just start the app, and your location pops up with animated weather, allowing you to easily see if rain is headed your way. Our high-res animated radar helps you see weather details even at the closest level!

What's great about MyRadar is that the map is easily zoomed and scrolled around with the flick of a finger, allowing you to quickly check the weather in other parts of the country, including Hawaii & Puerto Rico!

On top of the basic weather, users can get a quick glance of temperatures around the country, as well as overlay a current satellite image of cloud cover. For you aviation buffs, there's a layer that provides Airmets & Sigmets, and even the ability to overlay the flight plan of a particular aircraft onto the map. You can also share interesting weather photos from your area, and see photos other users have contributed neatly displayed on the map.

Additional options include weather warnings and alerts, complete with push notifications, to warn you of severe weather in your area. Great for the start of thunderstorm and tornado season! There's also an optional hurricane tracker, providing excellent details and projections for the path of storms as the season looms near.

MyRadar currently only shows weather in the United States, and only in the 48 contiguous states - not Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Download MyRadar today and try it out...!

What's New

Version 3.3 (Oct 20, 2014)

TFR's; for our aviation enthusiasts, we now include Temporary Flight Restrictions as part of the Aviation layer.

Earthquake Layer; stay on top of the latest earthquakes from around the globe! Filter by magnitude and time frame; includes recent news and information about the quake.

Longer radar loop; you can now see longer radar loop lengths when viewing HD radar, up to 90 minutes instead of just 60.

Users in Alaska and Hawaii now have HD radar enabled by default when first starting MyRadar.

Miscellaneous bug fixes.

Version 3.1.1 (Mar 10, 2014)

This update addresses some issues raised by users with the most recent, previous update! Keep the feedback coming, it helps us make MyRadar the best app possible!

- The icons for "favorite locations" (stored locations on the map) now fade out after a second or two so that they no longer obscure the radar
- Storm Centers/Storm Wind indicators are now optional and selectable from the Radar Settings section
- Slight improvements to the forecast load times
- The forecast bar at the top is now slightly shorter in height, giving more room to see the map on older, smaller phones like the iPhone 4
- The forecast bar now fades out after 7 seconds instead of 10
- The extended forecast now indicates sunrise/sunset times
- The hourly forecast is now in the local timezone for the selected area
- We've added additional weather icons to better distinguish between the varying stages of cloudiness
- Corrected a bug with the bottom text of the extended forecast not fully displaying properly

Version 3.1 (Feb 11, 2014)

Version 3.1 brings a greatly improved forecast system for the iPhone version, as well as a simplified "stored locations" interface. The new forecast system sits at the top of the radar map and allows you to add your current location to your stored locations list by tapping the "star" icon (you can remove a location by tapping it again). You can easily swipe through stored locations by swiping the forecast left or right. For a greater, full-detailed forecast, pull the forecast bar down, and a full-page, scroll-able list of weather detilas appears. You can still swipe left or right to move through stored locations, and you can flip it up with your thumb when you're done! The forecast bar automatically fades out after 10 seconds - a simple tap of the screen brings it back :)

The iPad still uses the old system; but we're working on a great iPad-specific version of MyRadar that will make the best use of the larger screen, and offer some cool extra features, to boot :)

We've got a bunch of new features in this release!

- Location Bookmarks; you can now store & easily flip through special locations. Store your family's home town, store your vacation getaway, store a friends home city - and easily flip through them all with just a few taps.

- Aviation Layers; pilots will appreciate some new additions to the types of data we can overlay on top of the map. AIRMETs and SIGMETs can now be displayed (for you non-pilots, these are special aviation-specific weather conditions). In addition, if you are an IFR pilot, you can configure MyRadar with your favorite Aircraft tail number (or flight ID), and whenever we detect a recently-filed IFR flight plan for that ID, we'll automatically display the FAA's assigned route of flight on top of the map, allowing you to take a quick check of the weather along your planned route! (Please note, this is not a QICP "certified weather" source).

- Streamlined Layers menu; we've made a few small tweaks to the layers menu to better organize the features available to each layer. Layers that have a blue "arrow" icon to the right have additional settings & options that you can configure.

- Support for iPhone 5

- Support for Fahrenheit/Celsius

- Improved hint screens with a bit more info
