Need to know where the sun will be, and when it will be there? You need Sun Scout!
The screenshots show how Sun Scout turns your phone in to the most powerful and natural interface possible: a magic lens. Point it at the sky to understand where the sun will be, and when.
☀ Shooting photos or film? Know when you'll get ideal light and shadow.
☀ Buying a house? Check the rooms and garden for sunny spots and shade.
☀ Enjoying a day by the pool? Find the best spot for your towel.
☀ Hosting a garden party? Position the lounger in the sun and the drinks cooler in the shade.
☀ Heading to the mountains to hike or ski? See when the peaks will leave you chilly in their shadow.
☀ Planning to see the sun rise? Know _where_ it will rise as well as when!
Sun Scout uses the compass in your iPhone 3Gs or iPhone 4. For best results, calibrate your iPhone's compass, even when your phone does not prompt you to do so – check out this video to see how: ☛ http://j.mp/compass-calibration
Important note for users: Like all compasses, Sun Scout is adversely influenced by metal in buildings and vehicles. Sun Scout is only as good as the iPhone's compass and even under fair condition is prone to a variable margin of inaccuracy. Do not base high-value production decisions solely on Sun Scout without confirming them using sun charts, a compass and an altimeter, and a technical scouting mission during the time of day of a future shoot.
✐ romano01, US App Store – ❛This app has come in handy more then once this week alone. While working on a feature film called "fairhaven" the gaffer and I (key Grip) needed to find out where and when the sun would be for a scene… well after i pulled out my Sun Scout App. everyone started downloading it!!! It is well worth it.❜
✐ WPSHM, US App Store – ❛This should win a gajillion awards for usability and simplicity. I love it!!!!❜
