Vyclone is a video app like nothing you've ever seen. Vyclone automatically and intuitively syncs video taken on your phone with footage taken by others around the same happening. You just shoot something and upload; Vyclone does the rest. Within moments, Vyclone begins creating one seamless video with everyone’s content mixed together. So why take static photos or single videos by yourself when you can co-create for the bigger picture? Vyclone, now that’s really social media!
You guys rule & we love that you are reading these notes. Honestly, we thought nobody read them, a bit like 'People Magazine'. Just joshing, yo. Anyway, the response was amazing and we're sending a tonne of t-shirts out. We're going one further this time. Make a video*, mention @vyclone and we'll send one lucky person a personalised Vyclone mug.
Anyway, update wise you can now share your videos that you've made in other apps to Vyclone - we especially like Horizon app and built this after talking to those cool 'film in landscape' guys.
Get in, download it, share videos, email us (we love hearing from you) and then go and watch Trading Places because it's a great movie.
later on yo.
* the video does not need to be good.
Yo, Mr White.
Spoiler alert. We've built a new custom video player which means spin the phone 'round and the video you are watching flips full screen - plus some nice rounded share icons. So share away. Oh, and if you are reading this with a dash of ambition then drop us a mail and say the password "I'm gonna Vyclone tonight" and we'll send the first 5 people to do this a t-shirt.
We're nice and we want to make you smile.
Also, we fixed a bug. It was like the fly with Jeff Goldblum (you know he plays Jazz piano in Hollywood every month). The fly got in our app code and created a half app half fly thing that only Jeff could see. It's fixed now, so don't worry.
What's new in this version? I'm glad you asked apple. Dr Pope has been hard at work building some quite marvellous features into the new version of Vyclone. None more so than Vydiot. Vydiot allows you to jam in your clip with other people who are filming the same thing. For example imagine lipsyncing to a song in the background or running down the street and having everything mashed together through the sound in the background. That, my friends is the shizzle we're talking about.
Now, also, if you search in iPad you will see Vyclone appear. Hurrah! Let's not get ahead of ourselves though, we just stretched everything. Watch this space, we're planning a full scale amazing iPad version in the future.
See you all later.
minor bug fixes & improved uploads.
We're trying to think of something whimsical and hilarious to add at the end here. We're stumped, our usual guy who writes this bumf is not in today, he's on holiday, hiking in the Arctic. So, this is us, trying to be funny. We're so sorry this is not funny, we know that. Think about the bear who walks into a pub, or the horse with the long face or perhaps just who reads this. You!
NOW GO MAKE SOME AMAZING VIDEOS.
We've just the last month cooped up with Bigfoot, R2D2 and the Sam from Quantum Leap. It's been fun. They put in a few requests for things they wanted in the app and we duly obliged.
So, now people of the world you can add a soundtrack to your video, we'll be adding new songs all the time to this. If you want to contribute - message us, we'd love to get your music on the platform.
We've also created an improved upload flow, making things faster and way more exciting for you.
Plus check out our share buttons, we're happy with them, we hope you are too. If your not C'est la vie.
Laters - Vyclone
Exciting news! Filters for your movies are here. You can add stackable filters to your movies at the end of recording or when you remix a movie.
What's stackable? That's when the filters mash up with each other. So you add a vintage filter and your buddy adds a bleached filter - your gonna get yourself a bleached vintage look to your movie. That's what we're talking about. That's video co-creation and that's the future.
Also, you can now tag your friends in movies. When you finish recording just tap "i'm with" and choose either friends on Vyclone or your Facebook friends to tag them.
I'm with. I'd tap that.
- minor bug fixes
New card UI to make navigation easier
Instant liking and commenting while you watch a movie
There's a brand new camera UI in the app. We thought it was time to make things a bit clearer. Check out on the screen when you are filming at the same time as other people. It will tell you how many people are filming with you through some swanky tech and a bit of GPS so make sure you've got your location services switched on to film on Vyclone. Enjoy
That was a quickie. We've just fixed some bugs and a few UI tweaks here and there.
We've written a brand new intro flow. We hope you like our illustrations, we're pretty delighted with them.
Then we decide to make the upload process clearer for you. We now tell you how many people were filming at the same time as you as well as the ability to upload automatically.
Basically, we're just trying to make your life more simple so you have more time to spend trying to make pairs of socks or find missing pieces of lego under your bed. Enjoy.
