It would be useful if it worked
I wanted to sync my passwords from (current) Firefox on OSX to iOS, but clearly some combination of using a master password on OSX & using 2FA on my Firefox account – actually caring about security in other words – means it totally fails to work, at all: I have more than a hundred saved logins on the desktop Firefox, none in Lockwise on iOs, logged in to the same account. Asking in the support forums has the result I should have expected: none.I really want Firefox / Mozilla to win, but they seem to be too busy blowing their own feet off. It's sad.
I have all my passwords saved from Firefox on my laptop and was hoping to use this to go off the back of that list. Nope. Mega slow. Half the time it doesn’t work, click it and click it won’t auto fill. If it happens to auto fill you have to wait a million years for the Lockwise app to open before it fills. Just a nightmare to use and not with the hassle.
Good but could do more
It wants to be a password manager but it’s really just a screen of all your Firefox passwords. It would be great if we could add passwords, tokens and secrets for things that aren’t websites; then I’d use it as my only password manager. But now it seems to be limiting itself for no real reason.
this will be a solid password manager. it’s missing some core features, like the ability to create new entries in the app, but it seems like mozilla is prioritizing lockwise so hopefully it’ll appear soon.
It’s great and does what it says it will, but if it’s going to be truly useful it needs the ability to manage passwords via the app, not just Firefox desktop.
