PhADR provides Actors with a method to record their ADR in sync to picture on their iPhone, with traditional
beeps, previews, and playbacks of their recorded ADR.
Using email, the Editor sends a QuickTime to an Actor who then records their dialog in sync to picture, just as they would on a traditional ADR Recording Stage. The Actor may record with the built-in microphone or connect the Rode VideoMic Me-L, and headphones are preferred but optional. If recording with the iPhone’s built-in speaker, PhADR will automatically mute the guide track on the third ADR beep. The Actor may playback and select preferred takes to email back to the Editor. The ADR Recordings are Wav 24/48. There is an option to provide sub-titled text.
The free fully functional trial period includes five recorded ADR takes, following that the Actor has an auto-renew subscription option of $19.99 per year. Payment will be charged to the iTunes Account after purchase confirmation. The subscription may be canceled at anytime, at least 24-hours prior to the next subscription payment. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase.
Non-Subscribed users may still use PhADR for free to preview guide tracks or playback ADR takes, but please note that Recording is disabled. This free-mode allows Editors to prepare cues for Actors, and for crew to evaluate ADR takes without a subscription.
