Four great weather apps in one Bundle!
Do you want to get your weather charts without using an internet connection or a dedicated computer? HF Weather Fax lets you receive marine weather radiofascimile transmissions, using the audio from your HF marine radio. Just set it next to the radio's speaker or headphones, tune in a weather fax frequency, and watch the images come in.
HF Weather Fax is perfect for mariners who want to be able to view the latest weather reports and forecasts.
Received fax images can be manually or automatically saved, and viewed later. You can also export them to your computer using iTunes.
There is also a built in copy of the NOAA/NWS Radiofacsimile schedule, and an option to download the latest copy of the schedule from the NWS website.
You can also save your received text to view later, or transfer to your computer via iTunes. An SSB shortwave radio is required.
NAVTEX Pad lets you view NAVTEX and Radio Teletype (RTTY) marine weather transmissions on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Just set it near a radio (or for better quality decoding, connect a cable from the radio's audio output jack to the microphone jack), tune in a NAVTEX frequency (usually 518 kHz), and watch the transmissions.
NAVTEX weather and marine safety messages are transmitted from dozens of sites around the world. Now you can display these messages without buying a dedicated NAVTEX receiver.
Both BAUDOT and ASCII RTTY can also be decoded. The shift and baud can can be selected from the standard values.
Schedules of upcoming NAVTEX transmissions are available within the app, so you'll never miss one. An SSB shortwave radio is required.
Shortwave Broadcast Schedules is a handy app that displays broadcast schedules of about 11,000 longwave, mediumwave, and shortwave broadcast stations.
The stations are initially listed in order by frequency. You can tap a button to see which stations are on the air right now, as well as search for stations by name, frequency, time of day that they are on, or select by language, target area, or country of origin.
Stations currently on the air are displayed in bold, making it quick and easy to see which stations are on right now.
You can keep track of favorite stations, as well as set reminders for favorite broadcasts, so you’ll never forget about a transmission again.
Tap on a station to bring up more information about the station, such as the country of origin, target area, and programming language.
When viewing the details for a station, you can tap on the frequency, country, target, or language to get a list of all other stations with that matching value. You can also tap on Schedule to see all of the transmissions throughout the day for this station.
Updated schedules can be downloaded for free.
Weather Calc performs the following weather relation calculations:
Altimeter Setting - compute the altimeter setting based on elevation and station pressure
Heat Index - compute the heat index based on the temperature and relative humidity
Pressure - convert between hPa, atmospheres, psi, and inches and mm of mercury (Hg)
Relative Humidity - compute the wet bulb and dewpoint based on the temperature, pressure, and relative humidity
Standard Atmosphere - compute the temperature, pressure, density, viscosity, speed of sound, and more
Station Pressure - compute the station pressure based on the elevation and altimeter setting.
Temperature - convert between degrees Fahrenheit, Celsius, Kelvin, and Rankine
Virtual Temperature - compute the virtual temperature based on the temperature, dewpoint, and pressure
Vapor Pressure - com[ute the saturated and actual vapor pressure, as well as relative humidity
Wet Bulb - compute the dewpoint and relative humidity based on the temperature, pressure, and wet bulb reading
Wind Chill - compute the wind chill based on the temperature and wind speed
Wind Speed - convert between knots, kilometers/hour, meters/second, miles/hour, feet/second
