The traditional strategy board game of Tigers & Goats. The goats attempt to trap the tigers without being eaten.
Includes five variations:
(1) Tigers & Goats
From Nepal, where it is known as Bagh-Chal. It is also known as Bagha Chal, BaghChaal, Bhaga Chal, Cordeiros e Tigres, and Tigo.
Played with 4 tigers and 20 goats on a 5x5 alquerque board.
(2) Tigers & Oxen
From Thailand, where it is known as Sua Ghin Gnua.
Played with 3 tigers and 12 oxen on a 5x5 board with orthogonal lines only.
(3) Tigers & Buffaloes
From Myanmar (Burma).
Played with 3 tigers and 11 buffaloes on a 4x4 board with orthogonal lines only.
(4) Tigers & Leopards
From Thailand, where it is known as Len Choa. It is very similar to the game Hat Diviyan Keliya from Sri Lanka.
Played with 1 tiger and 6 leopards on a pyramid.
(5) Tigers & Lambs
From India, where it is known as Aadu Puli Aatam or Pulijudam. It is also sometimes known as just "The Tiger Game", Puli-Meka, Puli Joodamu, Huli, Ghatta, or Adu Huli.
Played with 3 tigers and 15 lambs on an oddly-shaped board.
