Fantasitc game. For an adventure game it's fairly easy but at least you'll never been in a situation where you're stuck for a long time. It took me about 10 hours to finish it so it's a good return on investment in my opinion. The only thing I'd complain about and makes it lose one star is the fact that it's massively rushed on the last two scenes and it really doesn't seem like it fits with the rest of the game. It just feels werid. But overall an amazing game. I hope there is a sequal with the characters sometime in the future.
This was a great game, very well thought out and entertaining. It didn't freeze up on me at all, and there weren't any bugs that I encountered. My only disappointment was that the last chapter was very short, and basically a repeat of the earlier chapter. Kind of a let down. But I had a great time playing it.
I was also a huge fan of the King's Quest genre of adventure point and click games that seemed to have died out. This is the first game I have played since King's Quest and fell in love with the genre all over again. This was exactly the kind of game I was dying to play. It was fun to play and had a lot of humor along with it. I only hope King art releases more of these types of games in the US in the future. My only complaint is that the game wasn't longer!
An unexpected gem in the world of adventure games...
Being a long time fan of adventure games, I was a bit hestinant to try this one because let's face it… adventure games just aren't what they used to be back in the golden age of Sierra and LucasArts products. But I was pleasantly surprised by this game. The production quality is way above the average game out there, the visuals are fantastic, the voice acting is good enough overall, and the length of the game is very respectable. This game really feels like a classic LucasArts title with more modern graphics. It has a good sense of humor, making fun of itself and other games plus many pop culture references. The game is also very smartly put together, if you analize things like I do… for instance they're very good about removing hotspots when you've exhausted the options for something, and they always offer a 'fast forward' click when traveling from scene to scene so you don't need to wait on your character to walk the entire distance. There are also a lot of good panning and zooming to make the views feel less static than they really are, and most of the puzzles of have a good built-in 'hints' through the character dialog. Lots of nice little touches that are uncommon in the adventure game world these days.I finished the game and never had any of the issues other people have claimed… although their video player could use some work, as it was stuttering fairly bad on my MacBook Air. But luckily there aren't many videos in the game (nor do they need them, because the in-game visuals are better). And I agree with some others who said the inventory is a bit clunky, but not so much that it distracts from the game itself.Anyway, overall I was a fan of this title and I hope people support them to make more. And as a long time 'fan + critic + game developer' of this style of game… that should say something.
It is a fun game, but it is really difficult to use the inventory item. Also it freezes quite frequently. Fix the bugs and it will really be something.
