Not convenient at all
It looks like a well-built app for someone with a lot of time to invest in this but for a normal user, this app is very inconvenient to use. I keep getting errors that I don’t have authorization to delete certain things (not system files, rather PDFs I have on my desktop, etc). If this app was only a buck, I’d understand but for $15, no I don’t have the time for games. To charge such a price, I expected to get what I asked right upfront, not having to figure out this overly-simplistic UI that just doesn’t do what I need. Or if it does, it does a good job of hiding these options.
WARNING, STANDARD SEARCH DOESNT DISTINGUISH THE DUPLICATES AND WILL ERASE YOUR DATA!
This Application trashed my music files and left my system with huge problems throughout the entire drive. I plan to request a refund because it did not relieve any problems or add to my systems overall performance. In fact, it was the root of serious concern and caused a factory reset and reinstallation of any files I was fortunate enough to have backed up.
This a great tool to find duplicates of files. The developer understands all the complexities and subtleties of duplicate files. This makes for a simple and easy to use app.A couple of wish list items:And although there's a great mechanism to filter files before you start, I'd like to be able to mark certain files to ignore (just per run of a comparison), that way items that I've decided should stay can go away and not clutter up my view while I try to find problem duplicate. Thanks!
Great for finding mass duplicates
I upgraded my review from 4 stars to 5 because this app deserves a higher average.Being able to mass delete duplicates is a godsend.
Fantasic, the best tool of its kind. Love the UI
For people who complain it's slow, you have no idea how much work an app like this is doing -- it has to inspect the contents of every file on your hard drive for Pete's sake, what do you expect? I love the UI that shows the branching and lets you "delete inside" or "delete outside" -- it's an elegant solution to specifying which version to keep. I can (sort of) understand why some people might not get the interface or the "inner/outer/unified" concepts, but for those who do understand, this is an excellent tool -- the best of its kind. I also love the fact that I don't have to wait for the full scan to complete before I can start cleaning up the dupes that have already been found, even while scanning continues in the background.EDIT: There is one feature I would like to see -- the ability to delete folders, if I find two folders that have identical contents. I releaize that could be a dangerous thing to enable, but at the very least it would be a big help to simply add the "Reveal in Finder" option for selected folders.
