Better experience than hazel
As mentioned in other reviews, this app is really good at what it does; Regardless of my browser it is sorting my downloads for me automatically. More importantly the quick access from the menu bar, is super useful. Its far better than opening my downloads folder or stack each time, cause the downloaded files are sorted by time, and you can quickly swipe to delete. The preview options, and opening the file directory add even more functionality. Great update from 1.1 keep it up!
The swipes in the new update for deleting downloads make it so easy to clean up the downloads folder. Also, the app now sorts all downloads (even old ones) and has the ability to use a download folder on an external drive. Performance wise - stability seems to be improved from 1.1.
Updated look is awesome
Love the new update! It organizes old downloads as well now. Seems to be more stable overall than before. The app works great with both Safari and Chrome downloads for me. The new time stamps for downloaded files and the swipe to delete are by far my favorite features in the new version. Keep it up!
OK so far, but wish it were better
I found this app last night and have experimented with it for a bit. Admittedly, I haven’t played around with all the features, but my impression so far is that it is useful, but it could be more versatile. This app does what it says as an automated organizer of downloads, and it does it qute well. Unfortunately, it has a few limits that were not made clear in the description. The main issue is that, as far as I can tell, this app only works for downloads from Safari, and not from other browsers and probably not from download managers, either. This is a shame, because, as far as I can tell, Safari does not allow for built-in bulk downloading, so the files that you want to have organized must be downloaded one at a time. Not only that, but the downloads have to be either automatic downloads or downloaded linked files, so this app does not seem to work for downloaded embedded images. Some other issues I have observed are a propensity for crashing and occasional missed downloads, but those were rare and happened only at the start. I am not a programmer, so I am aware that it may not be possible for this app to identify the original sources of all downloads from all sources, but it would be nice if it could be more comprehensive, and I think it could be.
Great utility tool, few minor bugs.
This app is off to a great start. Works with little to no setup, and it’s amazing how much more organized my Downloads folder is now. Only complaint thus far in testing is that it seems to quit (without a crash warning) on its own here and there. It’s turned off three times now on me without alerting me it crashed, so downloads didn’t get organized and I had no alert to restart the program. Once that gets worked out, this is a 5 star app.Updating, it’s been almost 2 months and no new updates to address the crashes? When will this be addressed?
