SaberFX is a program for creating movie style special effects. It was designed to be as easy to use as possible, so even children could do their own special effects.

SaberFX can be used with iMovie by adding the effects first, then importing the result into iMovie to finish the movie.

New for 1.3:

- Added Onion Skinning, shows the previous frame graphics to aid in effect placement on the current frame
- Added oval masks, to make it easier to mask round shapes
- Fixed the red static (snow) issue on newer machines
- Improves sound when rendering. Some programs had issues with the sound track on rendered videos
- Opening documents now zoom to maximized size after opening
- Better handling when opening documents that can't find the original video
- SaberFX is also able to find the original movie file in cases where it's been moved or is on external media that has been ejected
- Improved the glow. Sabers and Lightning have a nicer glow
- Removed the scaling options from the lower left. Proportional is best, so it's now the only option
- Removed the ability to play the video without rendering. It often couldn't keep up with the processing of the effects.

SaberFX - Great!
This is a great little app that does exactly what it says. I’ve had fun taking videos of friends and adding the effects afterwards. Add a few sound effects in Elements or IMovie and you can be the next king of Sci-Fi. Keep up the good work!!

Not half bad
This is a delightful little tool for mimicking the special effects of Industrial Light and Magic. I’ve had a lot of fun with it. If you want the best video quality, I of course recommend Adobe After Effects, but it’s way more expensive than this app, and you don’t need it unless you’re planning on making a lot of movies that need special effects. Good color, good opacity control, very simple interface. The lightning effect is very amateurish, but you can’t have everything. This program is definitely worth the money. I use After Effects now for all my video editing, but SaberFX is what got me interested in video editing in the first place. You want to do a “Star Wars” fan film? You could do a lot worse for your money. Bravo.Oh, almost forgot. Two more downsides to this app. One, it will shrink the size of your film clip and two, it will erase your soundtrack. You’ll need to use iMovie to add your sound. Still a good beginner’s program.

Compatability
I love the product, But I deleted this app accidently. I am now re-downloading it and..... I CAN'T Cause 1.3.1 is not compatile with Snow Leopard. Please Make it compatible. so i can download it again and not have the watermark... Besides that, I love the product

No Sound Left
Be very careful. After importing a video and making your changes, the application removes all sound. If you want to have your original video's sound after adding these effects, YOU WON'T GET IT.Guys please, let us keep our sound!
