This app introduces you into the challenging world of Olympic 50m rifle and 25m pistol target shooting. The shooting challenge is very realistic with international ranges, Ardmore or the Sydney International Shooting Complex.
You can select either a rifle or pistol match. The rifle is a .22lr Anschutz 2013 Target Rifle with aperture sights shot over 50m. The available Pistol matches include a precision centre-fire 25m match, using a Morini CM32M, or a 5-shot rapid-fire 25m match, using a Walther SSP .22lr pistol.
Accuracy requires both skill and patience in a pressure situation, with a time limit for each shot. For the rifle and precision pistol matches, you have a fixed time to fire each shot, if it times out you get zero.
Sighting with aperture sights requires that the target is in the centre ring before firing. Sighting with the pistol sights requires that the sights are aimed just below the black aiming mark when firing. This is known as a six o’clock hold.
For the rapid-fire match, there are one or two 30-shot blocks. Each block consists of 6 5-shot strings. The shot time for each string reduces, progressively.
The Marksman grade has half the time of the Beginner grade.
For the full 60-shot Rifle match, anyone that shoots a qualifying score (590) may continue on to the Finals match.
The trial version only supports half matches and does not save the top scores. This app does not require you to register with a ‘home’ website or use ads.
