Look, listen, learn, and touch! Learning a new language can be fun.
Use Babel Buster to improve your English, French, Italian, or Spanish vocabulary.
This application provides an easy and entertaining way to learn common vocabulary via a simple matching game. Eighteen different categories exist - to help you narrow your focus on words that you really need to know; this is especially valuable when you need to refresh your foreign language skills or when you are learning a new language for the first time.
With this app, you can improve your language skills in English, French, Italian, or Spanish. You can select the language you want to learn, the language you already know, and finally, you can select the category of words you are most interested in. The application will randomize the words and you will match the foreign word to your known language. This app will always pronounce the first word in the language that you want to learn - to help you discover the match and to help you learn how to pronounce each word. To improve the text to speech synthesis, you should use the Google set of text to speech libraries or consider downloading the free "beta" IVONA Text to Speech application. For more details, see https://sites.google.com/site/kfvnapplications/android-text-to-speech-support for help enabling text to speech synthesis.
So, if you are learning Italian and your friend wants to improve her French skills - no problem - on the settings page, your friend can select French! Or, if both of you are trying to learn the same language, you can compete with each other to see who learns the words in each category the fastest - and with the fewest errors.
This application has a good mix of commonly used nouns, adjectives, and verbs. Nouns are introduced with their respective definite articles to help students recognize noun genders.
You can use colors to help identify the two languages or to quickly understand your new language's genders; genders are color coded to help you recognize them (blue for masculine, red for feminine, and green for neuter).
Eighteen categories exist; these include: money, time, numbers, family, colors, geography, home, adjectives, vehicles, clothes, ...
