Fix for this app crash
EDIT for 1.0.4: It appears the developer finally read my comment on how to fix this app. It works just fine now without any crashes. For those of you who are getting the application crash after allowing it to launch at startup here is how to fix it. I emailed it to the developer but he's yet to fix the problem. If you update to 1.0.3 you probably lost your notes. Don't worry they are still there here is how you fix the problem.Quit the application if it's open then:1. Go to your ~User/Library/Application Support/Notebar folder.2. Delete the NoteBarNew.sqllite and NoteBarNew.xml files.3. Rename the NoteBar.sqllite and NoteBar.xml files to NoteBarNew.sqllite and NoteBarNew.xml4. Open the NoteBarNew.xml with TextEdit by Right Clicking it Selecting Open With and browsing to the Applications Folder and Selecting TextEdit.5. Simply Right Click and Select All and delete the contents of the file and updated it with the text below:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><root><Login>True</Login><Font>Noteworthy</Font></root>6. Once you've copied and pasted the text above into the NoteBarNew.xml file simply save the file and quit TextEdit.7. Reopen the NoteBar application and you shouldn't have any problems. If you haven't updated to 1.0.3 then follow these instructions:1. Go to your ~User/Library/Application Support/Notebar folder.2. Open the NoteBar.xml with TextEdit by Right Clicking it Selecting Open With and browsing to the Applications Folder and Selecting TextEdit.3. Simply Right Click and Select All and delete the contents of the file and updated it with the text below:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><root><Login>True</Login><Font>Noteworthy</Font></root>4. Once you've copied and pasted the text above into the NoteBar.xml file simply save the file and quit TextEdit.5. Reopen the NoteBar application and you shouldn't have any problems.I hope this helps until the developer finally gets around to fixing the issue.
NEW REVIEW ::: App works great!
-------EDIT ::: NEW REVIEW ::: I updated to the 1.0.4 version just now, ran it, closed it, rebooted machine, ran, closed etc. and NO CRASHES.Ok, so now I take my rating to 5 stars. It's a simple app but for me fills a much needed void. Wish Apple did something like this for their notes instead of having to go to the mail app.Great simple design, easy access, clean. Oh and I didn't loose any notes.Thank you to the developer for fixing it and posting it quickly. Good little product, like to see more apps you come up with. -------I bought/downloaded the app, it ran great the first time and really liked it. Transfered some quick notes over to it and deleted the 'free' one I was using that worked (a different note app). After 2 re-boots the app WILL NOT LAUNCH now. I get a different error than another reviewer, I get 'An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down.' The only 'exception' here is this is the first App Store app that I paid money for that doesn't work. I expect, as a paying customer to have this fixed and re-posted to the app store ASAP.You can not sell apps that don't work and Apple really needs to test these or get on developers to fix them or return money spent from customers. Funny thing is, when it did first launch I was really impressed and almost was going to give it a rave review and still will once it GETS FIXED. It really is a cool app well worth $2 IF IT WORKED!Running a MacBook with OSX 10.7.3
