Hartelijke groeten,Frank Philips
Bad UI, poor experience, no updates, vrt does not listen
Many have made the same observation, that “deredactie” was great. While it was more old fashioned, you had menu bars, categories, tags, search ... all one click away. Any news category, any local news from any point in time was available by finding the category, similar stories or tags. —— Then many months ago vrt took all that away and gave us this dumb app. Merely giving us some recent news and top stories others are reading. Font is huge. More white space than is needed. No options. No categories. No similar stories. No search. No archives. ...... and first line customer service is deaf when I express simple usability options. Vrt accepts no feedback about this dumb app. People who gave this the green light should be fired.
Sad excuse of an app compared to deredactie
deredactie was top notch, all the news, in an orderly fashion, extensice menu bar, articles were tagged, super local if you wanted or needed it to be. VRT is mire a waste of pixel space, bigger graphics, more wasted white space, no more local news, three big buttons on the top and bottom ... that’s it?! Forget direct access to “binnenland” or more local options. Everything is two three four clicks - IF IT STILL EXISTS. And then the pictures and fonts are HUGE. It is like someone took the beta version for a 4” touch phone interface and blew it up to the largest tablets and computer screens. What a complete joke. The customer service team is tone deaf and rude when contacted about practical and usability concerns, search, etc ... they will take any criticism that the deredactie had many advantages, while hiding behind this inflated tablet web 3.0 fad.
Mostly Fake News.
Most of the News featured on this app is fake news.Their sources are usually very questionable.... CNN, The Washington Post, MSNBC, etc...VRT is manned by a Marxist crew, compare their News to Pravda back in the days of the Soviet Union.Their loyalty lays with communism/socialism, don’t take my word for it, just read their news articles.
Terrible compared to deredactie
The previous app had all the content, great effective use of space, terrific categories, ... you could find any news you wanted in one or two clicks. Now with the new app, it is endless scrolling, a sea of wasted white space, everything is so big only two or three things fit on screen, no local news categories, too heavy on photos and video ( bad for mobile data plan ) ... VRT threw out a perfect website and app for essentially an RSS feed. You get two things on screen and can just keep clicking and scrolling endlessly. Search is broken too ... endless irrelevant results. Time orders are out of sync. And when you try to reason with the developer team, the community staff responding is clueless about effective web and app design and rude and condescending to top it all off.
