I honestly can’t tell you if I love this game or hate it. I’m not referring to the app, but the board game it’s based on. It so ingeniously simple and elegant, the artwork is beautiful, and the god powers ensure that the game is infinitely re-playable. But when I play the game I’m not sure if I’m having “fun” or if it’s just tickling the part of my brain that feeds addiction. My girlfriend will love this luckless abstract game with chunky plastic pieces, but I’m not sure I can handle the streak of brutal losses I’m likely to incur if she’s even half as good as the AI!As for the app, I have only played solo, but it’s a fantastic implementation. The controls are solid, the graphics are great, and the animations are functional without detracting from playability. Maybe I’m just really, really bad at this game, but after roughly eight plays I’ve only been able to beat the first AI in odyssey mode two times! The app did it’s job though, because I ordered a copy of the physical game tonight, knowing full well the emotional trauma it will likely inflict upon me in the coming months.I’d probably rate it a five if the video tutorials worked on with my iPad or my iPhone (iOS 14.1) but it’s just a black screen with an hourglass.

Developer please fix your private matches for async play, Reproduction use case:1. Player 1 starts room, number 1234562. Player 2 on different phone, joins room3. Place some workers, basically start game from both sides, this works fine as long as two players are both online playing the game.4. Player 2, exit/background out of app, player 1 exit/background out of app.5. Player 2 relaunch app, can’t connect to room! Try to enter room 123456: room not found. Can’t ever rejoin a game in progress. You can’t play this game asynchronously or even background the app one time. That is completely broken. Please fix this ASAP, players should be able to create a session, then go about their day and play whenever they want to. All other online board games allow for asynchronous play between other players. Utterly ridiculous that you would have to stay online in game to finish a whole game. Don’t download if you intend to play with someone without ever closing or backgrounding the app. 1 star until this is fixed as I paid $5 for this and can’t even use it.

I play with my life boyfriend a lot but with the last update we can’t play together it always says room not found. Loved this app until then. If I didn’t pay $10 for the full app and expansion packs I wouldn’t be mad
