Not Just A Great Product - But Great Service
I have a lot of contacts ... A lot. And back in the day I used Bento to provide me the 'table view' of my address book to 'bulk normalize' my data. It was clunky - but it worked - and then it went away. Since then I had been looking for another table view app a to do the job. I found address book - and committed. Three weeks ago I marked this product with one star - because apparently I can't give zero stars. Note that it now has 5 stars. Why? Service. Dedication. Customer focus. Having logged my issue and spent my 5 bucks - I noodled into the site and found how to log my problem. In all honesty - it wasn't a simple here's the issue and it was fixed - it was a back and forth with Atsushi ... Daily ... During the time he pushed 4 separate trials up to his web site for me to download and see if it fixed the problem - each time - no - until the final. In the end - the issue was down to how Evernote's OCR app maps linkedIN user names into mac contacts .... badly - but you don't know it. Atsushi eventually identified the issue - we checked it out on Friday 13th - and it worked. I told home that once the fix was published - I would post a review. And here we are ... 11 days later .... that's how long it takes Apple to move this product from submission to store. Key point. It works ... Just tested. Thank you Atsushi ... great service - a fact more important than a great product ... but even so - still a great product - does what it says on the tin. I have a few ideas how to improve and have already shared - but even without those. For less than the price of a decent beer here in California. well worth it.
Sadly, still doesn’t work
I was so hopeful when I learned there was an app where I could view my contacts in spreadsheet format and edit them but sadly, as the limited reviews state, this doesn’t work. I downloaded the app (there are no easy instructions), allowed it to access my contacts and waited. Under the Navigation drop-down menu my groups showed up but when I selected them, nothing happened. NO DATA populated. Then after searching for help I set my default to iCloud and some contacts populated but only a fraction of them AND none of the information in the columns populated. Totally useless. This really doesn’t seem like such a hard app to create but what really shocks me is that it would be up for sale and not work.
Works precisely as advertised — and found it to be a very useful utility for mass editing Contacts.I’m working on a massive shared database, and needed to be able to cut/paste values quickly, and confirm that the changes have been applied correctly. Was very skeptical seeing the overwhelming negative reviews — but seeing none of that behavior in the current release. Considering the hours of time and trouble this will save me in the next few days — the program is a huge value, NO, its a BARGAIN.
Doesn’t appear to work with OS 10.9
Simply doesn’t work; no response from developer
I installed the software and it simply doesn’t show any of my contacts. I reinstalled. Tried it in a new mac user account. nothing. So I sent an email to the address listed for support. No answer. I sent another email. No answer. This perplexes me. Most small developers will communicate with you. And the developer of this package seems to be active releasing new versions. But none of them do anything.I can’t see any reason that anyone shoudl buy this.
