Waste of money
-- If you make a mistake on a fill square, it stops you from placing the block- makes it way to easy to solve. --As noted below, you have to guess on some puzzles-- All puzzles are 10x10--Needs division lines for every 5 blocks--Looks like some kind of atari game. Is it really that hard to make the graphics a little nicer?--The iPad has a lot of these puzzles that are much betterOverall I only played for a few minutes- this is a complete waste of money at this point. Please put a little more effort into this game.
A good start
After beating iPacross (which as of now is still superior to this game), I've been craving some picross action, so this fit the bill, and while this is a great start, backed by a really super simple engine, there are a few problems keeping it from being fantastic. First, there are quite a few instances of guesswork being necessary in order to solve a puzzle, which is not ideal for picross puzzles. The goal is to be able to be able to fill in all of the block without having to take a leap of faith, and more than once I was punished simply because each option would be equally true in the puzzle's logic. This is the main problem, but a pretty simple way to solve it would be to make sure all of the puzzles are pretty rigorously playtested before put into the game.Second, while the engine it's built on is sound, it's a bit clumsy on occasion, it will freeze on the "on" option and fill blocks with markings I didn't intend, or penalize me for moving my cursor after I finished a line. The punishments are also quite a bit harsh for as exacting as you want to be, and even one of these little errors will make you want to just start the puzzle over because you've gained five minutes on your time.Third, and I'm sure this is just a product of the game being less than a week old, the puzzles, even on the hard diffuculty, are pretty easy. It never goes larger than a 10x10 grid, and the only real time I've had to think is when I encounter one of the aforementioned puzzles where I ultimately have to guess. If this game were much older, it would be a sad effort, but I'm reviewing literally less than a week after the first release, and for that, it's a fantastic start. A little more time spent bug and play testing, and adding a bunch more puzzles in there (which I'd be happy to pay for, assuming they're properly tested) would go a long way to make this game a fantastic companion to iPacross.
