I used to like this all. But the new color scheme is too bright with too much white and there is no dark modeAlso, severely lacks variety of news topics. For years it seems mostly about and politics.Deleting app.

The new update increased the minimum font size of headlines and articles by what seems like 2x and there’s now a “Life” section between the first major news article and the rest of any actual journalism. I suddenly feel like I’m reading a tabloid. Did they get bought out and are pivoting in a BuzzFeed direction or something? The last political article I read ended with a meme for no reason. I know HuffPo ain’t exactly the NYT but this is obnoxious.

Huffington and The Guardian are the top two for reliable news.Update: Just found out Huffington has been sold to something could Buzzfeed. There are few enough media news persons that tell the nitty gritty. If they keep all the Huffington employees, I’ll keep reading, if not, goodby, but I’m glad I knew ye.This breaks my heart.

I recently experienced issues with this app (screen kept coming up blank) so I deleted the app to reinstall. Now I find that it requires a subscription! If I’d known I’d have NEVER chosen “delete”. Lesson learned: nothing is free.
