App seems okay

The app seems okay, like the NHS finally went in the XXI century. It’s meant to make it easy to make a booking with your GP, checking your records easily, checking your symptoms etc. But so far I haven’t been able to use the app properly because I have to “prove my identity” and I’m still waiting for that to be confirmed by “them”, whoever “they” are. Also, after reading other comments, I’m disappointed you can’t book appointments with your GP through the app, you still need to call. Everyone who is with a UK GP knows it’s absolutely impossible to call your GP and book an appointment, especially with Covid it’s just impossible to call! I was hoping this app would make online appointments easier but I guess not.

This app is temperamental I use the fingerprint recognition but it keeps asking for security codes and passwords the next day there’s no problem at all, it becomes unusable when I need it sometimes I can order my medication sometimes not

Work in progress?

I think this is a potentially good app but set up was somewhat fickle but I think this probably more down to the features of the personal device. Unfortunately our doctors’ decided to cease using a competitor app in favour of this one but decided to do a computer update with a two week downtime! Repeat prescription due so had to resort to phoning. However GP system up and running now and my prescription order has appeared. Obviously the availability of various services is in the hands of the individual practice. My only criticism regards “log out”. I could not find a log out “button” however I realised that this was in the “cogwheel” settings button on the right of the title bar . It would be better to have a separate easily seen “button” for this purpose and would provide a more secure operating environment. Maybe the app is designed to automatically log out after a period of inactivity?

Verification Code Issues

Not a bad app once you can get into it! Verification by text can take hours or never even arrives. I select for this not to be sent and next time I try and log on it happens again. Quicker to phone for my prescription and that includes being placed in a long queue.

Clunky but a useful start

This app is going to be hugely useful but it has a way to go. First - setting up involves a very sophisticated ID check (good). You have to submit an ID document and then check it against a biometric scan of your face (hugely impressive!). Only for your ID document it accepts only JPEG and similar files - which iPhones don’t do. Why not eg PNG? Or even better PDF?And it doesn’t tell you, but it wants ONLY the page with your photo and name. Once you have found that out, you might try to crop a bigger image - but then it tells you the resolution is too low. Took about an hour to get it right, using a scanner and computer. I don’t think that’s how the developers intended it.Second - the appointments system seems to work (although my GP practice isn’t using it properly yet), but why can’t it load appointments direct into my calendar? The old Patient Access app can do that - so I’m having to retain it on my phone just to put appointments in my calendar! So Thank You NHS and keep going with this one - but not quite there yet.
