Designed by Brigitte Stanké, speech therapist, Madam Word is developed in the light of the most recent research on learning to read. This application promotes the development of capacities pivotal to the process of learning to read and spell, namely, phonological awareness and lexical orthographic memory. Madam Word can also be used as a re-education tool for children with reading and spelling difficulties.

The 7 games offered in this application achieve the following objectives.
Jen and Jim : develop the ability to identify phonemes and graphemes ""e"" and ""i"" in words.
Whose card is this? : locate one or two phonemes in a one-word syllable.
Rhyme Time! : judge if the words rhyme or not.
Mr. Mixup: develop the capacity for syllabic segmentation and improve phonological working memory.
Word Dive: develop phonemic segmentation and phonemes and graphemes matchin abilities.
Madam Word's Library: work on the confusion between the letters ""b"" and ""d"".
Word Pond: develop the ability to visually process similar graphemes and similar auditory phonemes.
