Piece of garbage
I've been using camscanner on my iPhone for a long time and wanted to get a desktop replacement. Found this software and it's nothing more than a toy. Screen size is ridicolously small. User interface is… well, far from beeing intuitive. This app simply doesn't work as advertised, will try to get refound from Apple as I feel CHEATED!
If you want a very good app for much less money and have an iPad or iPhone get JotNot Scanner Pro. I was hoping that this would be at least as good and because my laptop has a larger screen I would be able to fine-tune the photo even better than I could with JotNot Scanner. NOT SO. The screen is actually smaller and harder to adjust than on my iPhone 4s.Unless this is fixed, don't waste your money. I did.
Excellent, works exactly as described
This program saved me from having to use crappy bad angle pictures of documents when I couldn't find a scanner to use in a pinch and needed to e-mail documents. Super easy, well done!
I recommend this app
I wrote an earlier review complaint about the app and this is to set the story straight. Viscrest got right back to me and supplied what didn't come with the app, instructions. And now the app works great. It also does a good job of shrinking file size. I've got to say that it started off a little buggy but it's flawless now. At first the screen came up grayed or screened out and none of the icons or toolbar commands would respond. So I used Apple Grab to make an image to send to Viscrest so that they would know what was happening on my end. But something weird happened, when I was trying to eMail the developer I clicked on the Grabbed image and it did not open as an image, it relaunched Cam Scam and this time all of the icons and commands were live. And now the app works as advertised. I threw the Grab image away and relaunched Cam Scam again and it's still working. I'm letting you know this in case the app doesn't respond at first, don't panic because it will, or at least it did for me. I'm including the instructions that Viscrest eMailed to me, and I've included a few annotations in case you might be as slow as I on the computer lingo uptake.1. You have to create a new project (screen toolbar).2. Then just click on "new page"(art board toolbar).3. click on "find corners" and if necessary adjust the 4 green corner markers manually with the mouse pointer (artboard toolbar).4. select the page format of the document you are scanning (DINA3, DINA4, DINA5, USLetter, USLegal) (artboard toolbar).5. click on scan (at the bottom of the art board)That's it, eaasy as pie.
