Simple and work great!
After installing the wrong version of DD-WRT on my router Asus RT-AC66U. I was able to upload the right version using this program. Saved me over $130 from buying a new router.
This application does not work
This application is not worth the money. It did not work for me.
Clicked too fast. Should have scrolled down to the reviews.
It doesn’t work. I downloaded this app to test my tftp server and it can’t even send packets to localhost. Can’t specify port. Terrible piece of software and the developer should be ashamed.
Did the job!
I don’t know much about this TFTP stuff, but I was stumped while trying to update my Netgear router with terrible documentation. THIS WORKED!
Saved my bacon more than once reinstalling firmware in Netgear R6300 Router
I am baffled by the negative comments about this software. I invested almost $200 to buy a Netgear R6300 V.1 Router in 2012. It has succumbed to corrupted firmware about four times so far. Just happened again tonight when I changed the cable modem. Anyway, the “cure” is to TFTP the clean firmware file to the router. Apparently easy to do with Windows which sports built-in TFTP, but I tried and tried to do it with Terminal on my iMac, to no avail. Just couldn’t do it. Then I discovered this TFTP GUI software, and it worked like a charm. Revived my router (until the next failure, anyway). Now, I have it down pat: I have the firmware stored on my iMac, and I just connect my iMac directly to the router, give the iMac a static IP address of 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0, and TFTP to the Netgear router which is 192.168.1.1. Tonight, I just couldn’t get it to work, and was ready to give up, and then I thought to turn off wireless on my iMac, and boom!, as soon as I started TFTP again, the firmware started downloading into the router. So, though the router is a royal PITA, this application makes it quite easy to resurrect the router and saves me from having to reinvest in another one. Thus, for my use, at least, this application deserves the full five stars ***** ! Thanks, KT. You deserve better ratings than what you have received.
