Does not scan to selected folder!
I was looking for a way to manage and scan in files easily, this doesn't seem to be the right software for the job. I select a folder in the list and press the "Scan New Document" button, you would think that it would scan directly into that folder, but it doesn't! It scans into a default folder, from there you have to move it to whatever folder you need it to be in. Very frustrating! This, I would think, is a very basic feature!
Very useful app for organizing documents
I use it regularly and have used it for quite a while. I would like to see a hierarchical file tree on the left had side that would allow me to navigate the file structure and then drap/drop files to move them to folders. Also, would like to have assignable shortcut keys to my most common tags.
Works Well. The app to buy in this category.
Hello,I use this app daily to manage many documents. It is laid out clearly and is easy to implement a system to keep track of my personal professional documents. I depended on it daily. It’s worth the money to but and the time investment to set it up.The key to using the software for me has been how I tag and view documents by creating bookmarks. It would make more sense thematically if the programmers used smart folders which hold collections instead of collections of bookmarked documents. In any case, creating a complete set of folders aka bookmarks to easily find documents and how you tag documents works well. As a simple example, all new bills are tagged bill, 2014, pending, and maybe electric or medical. I have a collection to show all unpaid bills which uses the bill and pending tags. Then when I pay a bill, I tag the document with the word paid and removing the pending tag. If I look at my Paid bookmark collection, I will see all paid bills from recent to past.Did I meantion that they really need to replace the bookmarks with smart folders because documents to into folders?
secondary sorting would make this a better product
I have used YEP for several months on and off. In my job, I attend many meetings. After a meeting where I have paper handouts or notes, I scan and stick those in a folder for that meeting. I also set up folders for certain project topics. I find that I lose items within the folders often. It would be helpful to be able to list items by location, then within that location have the most recently modified or created files first. Where I have project meetings when a certain document is revisited, that I would like to color code to stand out. I have older eyes and the tags are less visible for me, though I do use them.It would be great if I could put my eyes on a YEP item quicker than pulling a sheet out of a folder taking up space on my desk. Tags are handy, but I tend to organize by folders. Thanks for this product.
